Premium winemakers in Australia are up in arms about the “unfair” way that wine is taxed, resulting in lower taxes for cheap wines.
At the moment wine is taxed according to price and not according to volume, which means that premium wine producers are being taxed significantly more. The issue of wine taxation has caused alot of contention amoung producers who say cheap wines and too cheap.
