The RSA Victoria Course Qualifications:

This course provides you with the qualification “SITHFAB002: Provide responsible service of alcohol RSA” and is also compliant with Victorian Commission for Gambling and Liquor Regulation Online RSA course requirements.  Upon completion you will be able to immediately print out two certificates, the VCGLR approved RSA course VIC certificate and a Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment for the SITHFAB002 qualification.

Course Delivery and Assessment Methods:

This course is delivered online and covers specific Victorian RSA content as well as content specific to the SITHFAB002 qualification, and has been approved by the Victorian Commission for Gambling and Liquor Regulation.

Upon successful completion of this course you will receive:
(a) A VCGLR RSA certificate
(b) A statement of attainment for the nationally recognised unit of competency Provide Responsible Service of Alcohol SITHFAB002. This statement of attainment is valid in VIC as well as ACT, NT, QLD, SA, TAS & WA.

Assessment is a combination of online questions, verbal communication (that must be undertaken via a live telephone conversation during business hours with a trainer/assessor) and a third-party observation report that must be completed in a workplace operational environment (excluding ACT and NSW). Training, assessment and certification is delivered/issued by Urban e-Learning (our RTO). There are no third-party services in place for this training.

Assessment Requirements:

If you are completing this training to work in a licensed venue in either QLD, WA, SA, VIC, TAS or NT, you will be required to complete the Third-Party Observation Report by an appropriate person in a licensed venue (this could be in a bar, nightclub, café that serves alcohol, hotel etc, by the supervisor or line manager or an alternative person who works closely with you in a supervisory role); over a period of at least 1-2 days to demonstrate your skills in an operational setting.

Please note, this MUST be completed in a licensed venue in order to fulfil the requirements of this unit of competency.

You are allowed to work in a licensed venue for a short period of time before you obtain your RSA certificate in order to fulfil this requirement. The timeframes are as follows:

  • In Victoria, learners must complete RSA training within 1 month of starting employment in licensed premises.

You will also be required to complete a verbal communication assessment over the phone with an assessor during business hours (Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm AEST), so you must have access to a telephone device.
