Myths Debunked – Alcohol Kills Brain cells

Some of the alcohol myths that have been debunked by a London based journalist. David McCandless reveals a number of myths that are commonly believed but are totally untrue. For example, he says different parts of your tongue don’t recognise different tastes as we were led to believe.

Some of the debunked myths that relate to alcohol include,

  1. Alcohol keeps us warm.  Alcohol does have the ability to dilate warm blood vessels near the skin but it actually drops out core body temperature instead of raising it.
  2. Alcohol Kills Brain cells. We all know heavy drinking is dangerous for a number of reasons, but does it actually kill brain cells? According to McCandless, it doesnt.
