According to Eric Rimm, a professor of epidemiology and nutrition, and director of the cardiovascular epidemiology program at Harvard’s T. H. Chan School of Public Health, alcohol’s impact on decision-making is more likely to derail your diet than the drinks actual caloric intake.
According to the professor, having just 3 glasses of wine at a restaurant, makes you more likely to order that dessert and a high calorie breakfast the next morning.
In a study conducted, alcohol was found to actually increase some people’s metabolism when consumed in moderation.
