The Cancer Council Victoria recently released an informative study on the hidden kilojoules in alcohol.

In fact research shows that a couple of drinks during happy hour could actually equal half of the days energy intake.

The Cancer Council Victoria analysed popular alcoholic drinks, finding out that some of them exceeded 1,000kjs each, this is comparable to a slice of pizza or a Mars Bar.

Many drinkers simply do not keep track of the number of kilojoules in alcohol and don’t realise that this is the cause of their weight gain. This also increases their risk of cancer.

As we approach the festive season, let’s ensure we drink in moderation and responsibly for our own health and safety.
