In 2016 there were more girls who required medical attention due to alcohol than boys, and problem drinking seems to be a growing problem among young females under the age of 18.

Paramedics and medical researchers say the number of under-age girls drinking in the Perth has increased and they  are now outnumbering the number of boys need medical attention for binge drinking related reasons.

Recently St John Ambulance revealed for the first time the breakdown of ambulance call-outs for alcohol intoxication. According to data, last year there 247 requests for urgent medical assistance for females between 13 and 18 and for males there 212 call-outs.  Source: http://www.perthnow.com.au/news/girls-outdrinking-boys-to-unconsciousness/news-story/6a21e91cbe80cd0c0335e75c319b8fe5
