Alcohol affects us all but for people over the age of 40, the effects can be longer lasting and more intense. This is because the liver and stomach in middle aged people has begun to shrink, this shrinkage results in alcohol staying in the body longer.
The brain, heart, skin and liver are amongst the greatest affected by excessive drinking. Also people over the age of 40 may have an increased risk of cancer if they are heavy drinkers.
