As a server of alcohol it’s important to know how alcohol affects your customers and what may happen if you serve alcohol to minors, which is against the law.
While the RSA course will teach how to serve alcohol responsibly and in accordance with Australian legislation, did you know that age and gender also affects the way our bodies handle alcohol.
For example minors who consumer alcohol are risking damage to their brains which are still developing and women who drink the same amount as their male counterparts are affected more.
If a woman and man drink the same amount of alcohol, the concentration of alcohol in the woman’s blood will be higher than the mans because women produce less of an enzyme needed to break alcohol down and because women’s bodies are composed of less water so there’s less fluid to dilute the alcohol.
Also the older we get, the more moderately we should be drinking. Read more at http://www.smh.com.au/lifestyle/diet-and-fitness/getting-older-why-less-is-more-when-it-comes-to-alcohol-20160425-goe2hf.html
