The latest reports indicate that Australians are drinking less but are spending more on alcohol. How is that possible? Apparently drinkers are opting for quality over quantity, choosing higher quality, premium beers and boutique spirits rather than the cheaper varieties.
And this shift is not only in the pub, even people buying alcohol at liquor stores are choosing premium products. According to Australian Liquor Stores Association CEO Terry Mott specialty and craft beers are increasingly featuring at barbecues and parties.
