According to the latest police and court statistics, intoxicated Canberrans drinking in Civic and Braddon, cost taxpayers an insane $11,7 million in the 2014-2015 period.

A study conducted by Deakin University researchers revealed that 30 per cent of drinkers in the entertainment precincts recorded being subject to verbal aggression – which is a higher percentage than those in most other cities surveyed.

Another alarming statistic that emerged is that seventeen percent of Canberrans drove while drunk.

It is important that servers of alcohol are abiding by responsible service of alcohol rules to minimise these alarming statistics.
