A proposal by the Western Australian government could make it harder to purchase alcohol in Western Australia, especially if your name is on the Banned Drinkers Register.
The government wants the IDs scanned of everyone buying alcohol in bottle shops and if they are on the register, the cashier will be alerted and they will be refused alcohol.
The Banned Drinkers Register is made up of people who are convicted of a violent offence of drink-driving.
The trial will run for 12 months at a bottle store in Pilbara.
