It’s a pity that valuable emergency resources such as paramedics are being taken up by alcohol and substance abuse calls.

Kingston paramedics say a majority of the call outs they receive are as a result of excessive alcohol consumption.

In the 2013-2014 year, there were 440 alcohol related callouts in the area.
