  • What Happens When You Have a Drink After a Work Out

Although it has become common to have a beer or glass of wine after a work out, is it good for you?

According to experts it is important to stay hydrated after a work out, but drinking water is best.

Jakob Vingren, PhD, an associate professor of kinesiology and biology at the University of Texas having 1 drink after a workout is fine, it shouldn’t have too much of a negative effect but 3 or more drinks may have a negative effect on your workouts.

Dr Vingren says drinking could make you feel fatigued faster during your next workout and it can reduce your protein synthesis, which could slow the process of muscle regrowth.
