The lockout laws that came into effect in NSW in 2014 was welcomed by some but many are still opposed to the laws which include a ban of take-away alcohol after 10pm, no shots, doubles or pre-mixers after midnight as well as no entry to venues after 1.30am and last drinks at 3am.

A survey recently conducted by global events and entertainment network The Socialites,showed that the majority of people are opposed to the liquor legislation introduced in NSW in 2014.
