  • Bar Skills Courses – Extra Info For Those Who Have Done Thier RSA Course

Bar Skills Courses – (For Those Who have Done Their RSA course)

Bar skills courses can be an interesting way to improve your work behind a bar, and are not something that the RSA Course can teach you. But you might be sitting there, asking yourself, why do I need to take further education to work behind a bar, I already have my RSA Certificate! Well you may already have the necessary certificate to work behind a bar, but you need much more than that to create a truly successful Bar. People don’t just appreciate a bar tender that can do fancy tricks or impress them, a lot of the time they simply prefer a bar tender that knows their stuff. A bar skills course will not only, teach you to serve in an interesting manner – it will also teach you all the different kinds of liquor that are out there for your choice.

The Wide Variety of Liquor – The RSA Course Teachs You to Serve It Safely

Yes, the RSA Course can teach you to serve the massive amount of liquor available in a safe manner, and can teach you to look out for patrons. But if you would like to know anything more about the different types of alcohol, then you should take a bartending skills course. More information on these kinds of courses can be found here. So by taking this course you simply expand your knowledge base as well as learning some cool skills for when you are tending behind a bar! The average patron nowadays does not simply want a common drink, so if you want to expand your job opportunities and move into a higher pay grade, then you need to expand your base of knowledge.

What Exactly Would A Course Like This Teach Me?

There are four main things that an alcohol skills course would teach you, these are: How to gain confidence behind a bar and serve people with more knowledge It will give you a competitive edge on other bars around your area, and essentially make you a prized bar tender. You will be able to impress people with your skills and tricks of the trade You will be able to serve competently and will reduce the chances of making any mistakes on the job.

  • Before Becoming a Bartender (After Completing The RSA Course)

What You Should Know – The RSA Course Can’t Teach This:

Before you go and look for work as a bar tender, and complete your RSA course, there are a few things that you should probably be aware of. The first of which is that bar tending is not the kind of job that you should enter into if you do not like conversing  with people, or if you just want to have an easy summer job. It can be hard, have long hours and can often be demanding; which means that despite all this you still have to be able to be nice to people and create a friendly atmosphere, or a boss will not want to hire you. But you also have to note that by being nice to patrons all the time, you have to be aware that some will even try and hit on you, on a daily basis – so set yourself some limits in how nice you are.

3 Essential Things to Know – Not in The RSA Course

In my personal opinion, bar tending is great and it can really have it’s benefits – which aren’t taught as much in the RSA course. But the main benefit is that the money can be really good, depending on how good you are at your job. So you work on a lot of tips, which may also mean that if you are not as good at your job then you may also not earn as much in it. As you can then see, the money is not as stable so it’s better to know this before joining the bar industry. Finally, you should know that bar tending comes with a few risks to be aware of. This is something that is taught in the RSA course which shows you that you are responsible for what you serve to whoever you serve it to. This means that you have to always be on the lookout for an underage drinker and you also have to be aware of who is drinking, and if they are drinking too much. There are many more things to be aware of when bar tending, all of which are taught in the RSA course.

  • From the Experienced – Working In A Bar After The RSA Course

The RSA Course will allow you to work in a bar or restaurant around Australia, but before you go to work in any sort of establishment, it might be good to hear how the work is from someone who is experienced in it. This is not something that you will find in the RSA course but it is still important so you might just find it here! Remember,  you might get different opinions on how to work from different people so make sure you do some research outside of this.

Some of the Tips – RSA Course

The RSA Course will not be able to give tips that come from experience, but it will allow you to serve drinks safely, so make sure you get online and complete the course asap! Don’t put up with people who are angry. This is in the RSA course as you might know if you have taken it. But speaking from experience then you should know that a nasty person will argue with you all night and will not do anything to benefit your bar. So long as you continue arguing with them then they will stay fueled and keep drinking. This could get to the point where you have to deal with an overly drunk person who may simply want to fight you. So simply ignore someone who just wants to argue with you. Secondly, remember to write anything down that you need to be able to remember later. This could be a drink order or a food order. Your memory may be good, but it cannot be perfect. Deal with problems, you always need to deal with problems before they go too far or turn into too large of a problem. Because a problem can escalate to the point where it is unbearable. Even consider an issue with the bathrooms, if you do not fix it fast enough then people may just make it worse. Sometimes less is more, and you need to know that the simple liqueurs can often be the most sold ones. So you should be able to make really good mixes in a few drinks, usually the ones that have more simple ingredients as if you can make them better then you will be able to drive business in.

  • Being Your Own Mixologist – After Getting Your Responsible Service of Alcohol Certificate

By getting your responsible service of alcohol certificate you are allowing yourself to work in any bar or restaurant around Australia. This opens up countless doors, but one of these doors is the one that leads to professional mixology, which can be studied rather intently. You might not think it but new drink mixes are being invented every day, we all remember the ‘flaming homer’ episode of The Simpsons right? If you catch onto a new mix that people love then you could sign it to your name and have the most distinct and popular bar in the town! This is of course a rather unrealistic expectation but nevertheless it could happen!

Mixology Is More Fun When Serving People – After You Have Your Responsible Service of Alcohol

Sure it can be fun to mix drinks on your own at home and drink them yourself or with family or friends, and this is quite often necessary when testing drinks you make. But once you have passed that step and think that you have really hit a new mix that people will love, then you will want to serve this drink to people and see how the wider community likes it. To do this you need to get your responsible service of alcohol certificate online. People often mix up the difference between a bartender and a mixologist, and these are fairly widely debated titles so don’t think that one definition is right. If you work behind a bar and mix drinks in your spare time, you could still call yourself a mixologist or a bartender. But there are people who solely focus on mixing drinks (mixologists) and there are people who share no interest in the activity while just simply serving drinks that are already existent (bartenders). It’s up to you to decide which one you want to be, but know that you CAN be both! In my opinion this is what makes bar tending much more fun, the ability to mix drinks and develop something that you can sign your name to and stand by as your specialty. This is something, again, that can only be done when you have completed your responsible service of alcohol course online. One thing to note is that when it comes to bartenders and mixologists, one is not better than the other as people sometimes argue. For more information on Mixology, check out this website!

Back To the Basics – responsible service of alcohol is very important and sometimes you have to go back to the basics, both in serving drinks and serving responsibly. When you get an indecisive customer, suggest something palatable and smooth. Vodka drinks are easy and well received. The RSA course can give you the tools to serve correctly behind a bar, and can teach you what to do when you notice a patron who has been drinking too much. It is your duty to protect people drinking when you are the one serving them the drinks, and you need to have your RSA certificate. So, yes, Vodka can be a good drink to serve to anyone who is indecisive, but you need to be aware of exactly what you are giving them, as you’re responsible for their intake. You also need to tell them what you are serving them; if you are giving them vodka, tell them how much. If it is something else like Jagermeister, then still tell them how much you are giving them in the way of standard drinks or they may not understand it.
